DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE HARBOR POLICE HOME LAND SECURITY DIVISION
 

 
  Homeland Security Division does the following:
  1. Coordinates a multi-agency liaison by participating in the Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council (ATAC), Urban Area Security Initiative Work Group, U. S. Coast Guard Area Maritime Security Executive Committee - work on special projects and assignments from these groups.
     
  2. Seek out and provide essential non-classified intelligence and anti-terrorism information Department wide.
     
  3. Coordinate and prepare strategic long term goals for the Department related to Homeland Security - implementation of recently approved and future programs.
     
  4. Coordinate grants and grant purchases related to Homeland Security. Meet with and select vendors and coordinate into current and future programs and budgets. Monitor spending and report compliance with grant guidelines.
     
  5. Prepare and modify vulnerability assessments and security plans for the Port in compliance with the MTSA (Maritime Transportation Security Act).
