As of our last re-organization
the Specialized Patrol Division was renamed to Homeland Security Personnel.
The primary function of the assigned members is providing police services at
the cruise terminals. When members of Homeland Security Personnel are not
working the terminals they are assigned to patrol the CHT and monitor entry
into the Port. In addition to the Clarence Henry Truck way (CHT), Homeland
Security Personnel also patrol the Port Of New Orleans Roadway, enforcing
the Board's Traffic Ordinances and remaining a highly visible crime
deterrent for that area. When on patrol the Homeland Security Personnel
members routinely respond as backup to the Patrol Division Officers on
traffic and felony stops. In addition to providing the listed police
services, Homeland Security Personnel members also perform any necessary
quartermaster function.
